MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Gunshots were fired early Wednesday morning in Middletown.

Police responded to a disturbance at Jacoby and Young streets, where officers located an SUV that had been fired upon at least once.

The shooter and several other subjects fled the area in multiple directions, according to police.

Carmen Burton allegedly argued with the shooter and was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation through the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged shooter was identified as Alex Johnson, 25, of Woodlawn Avenue.

Johnson was found at his Woodlawn apartment and voluntarily surrendered to police. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant through Middletown Municipal Court for domestic violence.

Police recovered the gun that he used to shoot at the SUV.

Johnson was transported to Middletown City Jail and additionally charged with weapons under disability, weapons while intoxicated, discharging a firearm in city limits and criminal damaging.

He will appear in court Wednesday morning.
