Mason offers weight-loss challenge

MASON - Mason residents who want to lose weight in 2012 should consider the "Empowered to Lose BIG" program.

The 10-week weight loss challenge begins January 7 at the Mason Community Center.

The program will include how-to clinics, fitness tips, group exercise offerings, healthy eating advice from a nutritionist, and weekly weigh-ins.

Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female finishers in three separate categories: most pounds lost, most percent body weight lost, and most "pound reward points."

Register by Friday, Dec. 30 by visiting www.imaginemason.org/community-center or stopping by 6050 Mason-Montgomery Road.

Registration is $10.
