LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - "It's a family oriented neighborhood, all ages all ethnic groups," said Eagle Creek subdivision resident Robin James. "It's a boring quiet neighborhood."
James said residents are on alert and watching out for one another now, because of recent vandalism. She explained that a number of ornamental geese and a garden flag was stolen from her front yard's landscaping.
"There should be no reason to do that," said James in a frustrated voice.
The Butler County Sheriff's office confirmed that numerous complaints have been filed, but only one police report was filed, officially.
Eagle Creek resident, Ramu Kesireddy, said by phone that the report came from him, because a rock was thrown threw his basement window. Photos that he emailed to WCPO showed damage to a basement window, glass scattered on the floor, damage to drywall, and a rock.
"Had somebody been in the basement at the time of the incident, they would have died or at the very least gotten injured very badly," said Kesireddy.
He said that the exterior of his home was ransacked with eggs, toilet paper, mustard, salt and ketchup a few weeks before the rock throwing incident.
Resident and United Air Force Vietnam War Veteran, Vernon Calloway, said his home was "painted."
"I got some paint like, mustard type substance thrown on the garage door. I'm just one of them," said Calloway. "We just have to live with it until someone gets caught."
James hopes it stops sooner than later.
"What's next? Are they pulling out your shrubbery, or are they breaking into your house when your not home," said James.
Sheriffs deputies were visible in the neighborhoods, because the patrols have been increased to curb the vandalism.
