LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - A Mason man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning after he was charged with his fifth drunk driving offense.
Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested 56-year-old Michael Pilman after he was involved in a one-vehicle crash on northbound I-75 in Liberty Township at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 1. No one was injured in the accident. Officials arrested Pilman and charged him with an OVI.
Pilman’s recent arrest is added to his four prior lifetime OVI convictions.
Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Sgt. Paul Lezotte said the officers work every day to get impaired drivers of the state’s roadways, but it’s up to the courts to determine how the repeat offenders are punished.
“Once we arrest them, it’s up to the courts to do their job,” Lezotte said.
Pilman is scheduled to appear in a Butler County courtroom on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
