LEBANON, Ohio - Lebanon has been named the ‘Best Hometown’ by Ohio Magazine.
It is the fifth year publishers at the magazine have selected a town for the award. They chose one town in five regions of Ohio.
In order to be considered, communities can nominate themselves; however, residents can enter as well.
Jim Bliss, President of Historic Downtown Lebanon Inc. entered the community into the competition this year. He is very excited about the win.
"It means, hopefully, that more and more people will come visit us, spend their money here, stay here,” Bliss says. “It also means that people who live here will learn more about there town and take more pride in it then they already have."
The winning towns are chosen on a variety of criteria, including: community spirit, education, and culture and heritage.
