LEBANON, Ohio - A house fire in Lebanon sent an 87-year-old woman to the hospital and kept fire crews busy for hours early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called just after 12 a.m. to 204 Mechanic Street in Lebanon for the fire.

The owner of the home walked a few blocks down the road to her daughter's home to call for help.

According to officials, the fire started in the back of the house near the kitchen. Debris within the home caught on fire, making it tough for fire crews to put it out quickly.

The homeowner was the only person inside the house when the blaze started.

She was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Fire crews from Lebanon and neighboring townships battled the blaze for several hours.
