LEBANON, Ohio - The second week of Ryan Widmer's retrial began the day with prosecutors calling a nurse and a police officer to testify.

Hamilton Township Police Officer Quinlin Short examined several evidence bags.

He told the jury inside each bag was an item he recovered from the Widmer bathroom the night Ryan's wife, Sarah, drowned.

Short says all the items, including a shirt, undergarments and magazines were dry when he placed them in the bags. He says that made him suspicious of why nothing was wet.

The police officer also testified under defense questioning that there were no signs of damage in the bathroom that would indicate a struggle.

A nurse testified that Ryan told her he found Sarah in the bathtub face up.

Ryan told the 911 dispatcher he found her face down.

The guilty verdict from Widmer's first trial was thrown out when Judge Neal Bronson ruled there was juror misconduct.
