Hamilton soldier laid to rest Saturday in Butler County

HAMILTON, Ohio - Friends and family came out to show their support for the family of a fallen Butler County soldier Saturday morning.
The funeral for staff sergeant Robert Massarelli was held at St. Julie Billiart Church in Hamilton at 10:00 am.
Massarelli was killed on June 24, in Afghanistan.
Hundreds of people came out to show their support. The Ohio Patriot Guard showed its respects to the family and says it was honored to provide an escort for Massarelli’s family.
"Publicly another soldier has lost his life, but privately another family has lost their child. It's not just about his service to our country, but it's about him as the child, him as the man," said Bob Woods, State Captain for the Ohio Patriot Guard.
Massarelli was laid to rest at St. Stephen Cemetery with full military honors.
