Hamilton police locate missing 2-year-old boy

HAMILTON, Ohio - A 2-year-old boy who went missing in Hamilton Wednesday morning has been located safe, according to police.

The boy was found safe at about 8 a.m. after police searched near his house in the 7600 block of Mourning Dove Lane beginning at about 6:20 a.m. The child wandered from his home in the early morning hours, police said.

While searching the area, Hamilton police officers Scott Laney, Pete Gibbons and Terry Kiep found the child inside of a vehicle a couple blocks away from his residence.

Authorities say the boy, whose name has not yet been released, appeared to be in good health and emergency crews transported him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital- Liberty Campus for precautionary reasons.

Authorities have not released any additional information at this time.
