HAMILTON, Ohio - Police say speed was a factor in a crash that injured five men in Hamilton early Thursday morning.
The crash was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Hamilton Mason and Gilmore roads. There are dark skid marks through the intersection that police say stretch 200 feet.
Police say the five men were traveling on Gilmore in a 2005 Chevy Cobalt when they failed to stop at the intersection of Hamilton Mason.
The vehicle then vaulted over an embankment and slammed into a construction trailer.
All the passengers were taken to medical facilities with serious but non life-threatening injuries. One person was airlifted to University Hospital.
Excessive speed is to blame and police do not believe alcohol was a factor. The crash is still under investigation and officials have not released any additional details at this time.
