HAMILTON, Ohio - A Hamilton home was destroyed when flames engulfed in early Friday morning.

Fire crews responded to a house fire in the 1000 block of Franklin Street at about 2:20 a.m. When crews responded, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Two females and a child were inside the house at the time of the blaze had some difficulty evacuating, but they were not seriously injured, although one of the female’s hair was singed from the heat. They tried to leave through the first floor, but it was filled with smoke, so they exited through a window and jumped off the roof.

Officials estimated that the fire caused $75,000 in damage.

Authorities have not yet said what caused the fire.

Neighboring houses sustained some minor damage.
