ST. CLAIR TWP, Ohio - Officials say speed was definitely a factor in a crash that killed two men in St. Clair Township early Friday morning.
The crash happened in the 2800 block of Eaton Road at about 4 a.m. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle, which was heading northbound on Eaton Road, failed to negotiate a curve as it approached the intersection with Hogue Road. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a small clump of trees, according to police.
The impact from the crash ejected the driver and a passenger from the vehicle and they were both pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the victims as 22-year-old Alden Little, who was driving the vehicle, and 28-year-old James Brown, the passenger. Both men were from Hamilton.
Officials say that speed was a factor in the crash, although it is not yet known how fast they were driving.
Eaton Road near Beissinger Road reopened to traffic at about 7 a.m. after it was closed for about two hours while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash. Broken glass and metal littered the roadway after the accident.
Butler County sheriff’s deputies and Hamilton police were on the scene with help from local fire crews. A traffic reconstruction team responded to help determine the cause of the crash.
Authorities have not released any additional details at this time.
