DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Four Kings High School students were transported to an area hospital after taking another student's prescription medication.
Two seniors and two sophomores were taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Liberty campus after complaining of dizziness and confusion Thursday morning.
School administrators said a male sophomore brought his prescription medication to school and gave it to a male senior on the bus. That senior took a pill and distributed some pills to four other students, three sophomores and one senior.
One of the sophomores threw away the pills he was given. School administrators recovered the discarded pills.
One student is in police custody. The Sheriff's Department said charges are likely to be filed against two students. School officials will not disclose the type of medication citing health privacy laws.
Distribution, possession or having consumed drugs or controlled substances violates the school code of conduct. The punishment is 10 days out of school suspension with a recommendation for expulsion.
