FAIRFIELD, Ohio - The Hamilton man accused of stabbing a Butler County assistant prosecutor and her brother appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday.
James Terry V was ordered held on a $5 million bond during his Fairfield Municipal Court appearance Tuesday morning.
Terry V faces two charges of felonious assault. Police say he was their prime suspect once the investigation into the stabbings began on Friday, May 6.
Family members found Kelly O'Keefe and her brother James "Danny" O'Keefe at Kelly's home on Judy Drive in Fairfield. Both suffered multiple stab wounds. Officers arrested Terry at his Hamilton home in the 3800 block of Benninghoffen Avenue early Friday evening.
Terry is the ex-boyfriend of Kelly O'Keefe. She is an assistant prosecutor in Butler County for juvenile cases. Family and friends held a vigil in Hamilton at the Butler County Courthouse on Monday evening to offer prayers of recovery for the siblings.
UC Air Care flew both to University Hospital on Friday with serious injuries. The hospital has not provided updates on their conditions sighting privacy restrictions.
Police have not shared any new details about the investigation including a possible motive in the case.
