FAIRFIELD, Ohio - A man who allegedly offered a 15-year-old Fairfield girl heroin in exchange for sex before her April death was indicted on several charges Tuesday morning.
A Butler County grand jury indicted 24-year-old George Davis on one count of trafficking in heroin, importuning and compelling prostitution. Davis was arrested after the murder of 15-year-old Chelsea Johnson in April.
Johnson was found stabbed to death near a creek about a mile from her Fairfield home. Officials took Davis into custody after detectives say he sent Johnson several text messages the day she disappeared.
Davis allegedly sent multiple text messages to the teen before she died offering to exchange heroin for sex, according to police.
Davis has not been charged with Johnson's murder and Fairfield's police chief has said he doesn't use the phrase "person of interest" because it is often confused with being a suspect.
