FAIRFIELD, Ohio -- Eighteen people have been displaced by a fire at an apartment building in Fairfield.

The Sunday night fire burned a three-story apartment building around 7 p.m. at the Oaks at Woodbridge apartment complex in Fairfield.

Authorities said 17 adults and a child were left temporarily homeless by blaze, which damaged 12 of the units. The Red Cross was assisting.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and no damage estimate was immediately available. More than 40 firefighters battled the fire.
