FAIRFIELD, Ohio - The man found dead in a Fairfield creek bed Thursday was shot multiple times, the Butler County coroner reports.

Officials say the body of a 19-year-old Joseph William Oakley was found in a creek bed near 5001 Pleasant Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday. The creek is in the Creekside Village Apartments.

The Butler County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Friday and ruled Oakley's primary cause of death to be multiple gun shot wounds.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Officials have not released any additional details at this time.
