BROOKVILLE, Ind. - A driver is hospitalized after a crash in Dearborn County early Thursday morning.
A speeding vehicle crashed on westbound I-74 just before the Brookville exit at about 3:30 a.m. Police say the driver hit the median on the roadway, swerved back, traveled into the westbound lanes and went airborne after hitting a rail.
The vehicle overturned and landed in a rural road behind the highway.
Emergency crews removed the driver from the vehicle and a medical helicopter transported the driver to University Hospital. Officials have not released information about the driver’s injuries or condition at this time.
Authorities have not released any additional details about the crash including what led to the accident.
