INDIANAPOLIS - A tribute honoring seven people killed in last year’s Indiana State Fair stage collapse is now on permanent display at the fairgrounds.
Repesentatives unveiled a plaque with the victims’ names during a ceremony at the fairground Thursday. Megan Toothman of Anderson Township was among those killed when a stage fell on a crowd waiting for a Sugarland concert on Aug. 13, 2011.
The collapse prompted the Indiana State Fair Commission to implement a new emergency management plan. Also, the commission hired two new executives in May to oversee the implementation of its new public safety protocol.
