BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- The funeral for Nancy Hamilton, wife of longtime Indiana congressman Lee Hamilton, will be held Sept. 7 at the First United Methodist Church in Bloomington.
The 82-year-old woman died Saturday after being run over by her own car outside a veterinarian's office in Bloomington. Police have said she apparently had not set the car in park before getting out of the vehicle.
An obituary published online by Day Funeral Home in Bloomington says she and Lee Hamilton, who also was vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission, would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Aug. 21. She also is survived by two daughters, a son and five grandchildren.
She was a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle and taught second grade for several years.
