LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. - A South Dearborn County school board member and his wife are facing charges following a party where alcohol was allegedly served to teenagers.

Terry and Tawnya Luhrsen are charged with misdemeanor furnishing alcohol to a minor as well as a felony charge of neglect of a dependent.

Dearborn County authorities said the party allegedly took place at their home in the 1100 block of Lattire Road. Authorities have not released when the alleged party took place.

Terry Luhrsen said Monday his lawyer has advised him not to comment, but did speak with 9 News regarding the allegations.

“Everything without a doubt that has been charged to me and my wife is not true,” said Luhrsen. “I hate it for our company and corporation. We don’t ever need this kind of publicity.”

According to the school board’s website, Luhrsen has been on the board since 2004.

The couple is expected to appear in Dearborn Court Superior Court No. 2 at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28.
