Aurora company plans to create 55 new jobs by 2013

AURORA, Ind. - Rest easy, new jobs are headed to Dearborn County.

Bed Techs, Inc. , a remanufacturer of hospital beds, announced Tuesday they plan to expand operations at its Aurora, Indiana, facility. They expect to create up to 55 new jobs by 2013.

The company, which reconditions Hill-Rom hospital beds and bed parts, will invest about $7.2 million to consolidate its Aurora and nearby Milan operations.

Bed Techs, Inc., plans to hire 25 associates by the end of this year.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation, or IEDC, said Bed Techs, Inc., is the second company to announce an expansion in the last two months. In May, Fortis Security said it plans to relocate its headquarters to Greendale from Kentucky. The relocation will create 15 new jobs by 2013.

IEDC said Southern Indiana will also see development in the following companies:

• General Motors: Planning to hire 58 new workers and invest $49 million at its Bedford facility.
• Netscape Technologies: Planning to hiring 63 new associates and invest $7.8 million
• Cummins, Inc.: Will invest $18 million to expand its Columbus headquarters, creating up to 600 new jobs by 2014
