GREENSBURG, Ind. - Officials are investigating the death of a Greensburg police officer after a shooting at his Indiana residence Tuesday night.
Authorities responded to a home in the 1700 block of North Tyrel Avenue West in Greensburg, Ind., at about 8:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the body of Lt. Larry Dance of the Greensburg Police Department.
Officials have not released the cause of the 42-year-old’s death or if he was working for the police department at the time. Authorities have not released information about any possible suspects in the shooting at this time.
An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in Indianapolis.
The Indiana State Police are investigating the shooting and Dance’s death and have not released any additional details at this time.
