MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ohio - A man attempted to steal a cash register from a pharmacy in Mount Washington Sunday morning.
The suspect walked behind the counter of the Walgreens located at 2203 Beechmont Avenue and attempted to exit the building when he was confronted by the store's manager, according to police. The suspect dropped the cash register after being placed in a "bear hug" by the manager, according to officers at the scene.
Police said the suspect displayed a paring knife after the struggle and picked up an undetermined amount of cash that had fallen out of the register before running out of the store.
The suspect was last seen running toward Stanberry Park, which is behind the pharmacy.
Police are searching for a white male in his early to mid 20s. The suspect is described as being around 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, and was wearing a blue-gray bandanna and a hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
