Police: Montgomery 3-year-old who fell in pond dies

MONTGOMERY, Ohio - A 3-year-old who fell into a local pond on Friday has died.

The girl fell into the pond at 5 p.m. Friday at Swaim Park in Montgomery. She was eventually taken by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital where she passed away Sunday, Montgomery police officials said.

Police said when they arrived at the scene, the girl’s mother had already pulled her from the water and a bystander was administering CPR.

The child was initially transported by ambulance to Bethesda North Hospital where medical staff were able to get a pulse and stabilize her, according to officials.
