Historic Clermont Co. covered bridge closed

STONELICK TWP., Ohio - The Stonelick Williams covered bridge in Clermont County has been closed after crews noticed structural damage over the weekend.
The Clermont County Engineer's Office plans to inspect the bridge and make necessary repairs.
On the same day engineers saw the damage, a Clermont County woman told sheriff’s deputies she saw a large truck traveling extremely fast over the bridge.
She says she was concerned.
“Everyone in Clermont County loves this bridge,” said Catherine Rush-Ossenbeck.
“It's a symbol of our county and we want to preserve the historic beauty of it and the Howe-truss structure which is a historic structure and it's a 1878 covered bridge,” she said. “Why not preserve some of our history?”
The bridge could be closed from several months to several years.
In 2012 the county has scheduled a million dollar rehab of the bridge.
