BATAVIA TWP, Ohio - The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man found dead in a wooded area of Batavia Township last week.
Clermont County officials found 42-year-old Eugene Woodruff dead inside a tent in a wooded area in Batavia Township between Old SR 74 and SR 32 at about 5 p.m. Feb. 22. A person notified officials after he found the Batavia resident’s body in the wooded area when he was looking for his dog, said Clermont County Sheriff A.J. Rodenberg in a news release Tuesday.
Investigators from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office responded Friday and processed the scene.
On Monday, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Woodruff based on past medical records. Woodruff had been reported missing in October 2011.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office reported that there was no trauma detected on the body and the cause of death has been ruled “undetermined.”
Authorities have not released any additional details about Woodruff’s death at this time.
