BATAVIA, Ohio - A man is dead after a single-vehicle accident in Batavia early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, police said that Robert P. Handra Jr, 29, of Batavia, Ohio, was driving a silver 2003 Ford Focus southbound on State Route 222.
Handra Jr. drove off the right side of the roadway striking a utility pole before continuing down an embankment striking a tree, according to police.
The owners of the property where the accident happened called 911 and the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Handra Jr. was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol use is unknown at this time.
Officials have not released any additional information at this time.
