CINCINNATI - Hamilton County Commissioners voted Wednesday to approve a resolution that would block Martian Marietta from tunneling under Broadwell Road.
That approval could make it impossible to build the mine in Anderson Township.
David Pepper proposed the resolution.
The mine plans by Martian Marietta show it would have to create two tunnels under Broadwell Road, in which they would transport explosives.
Ohio law requires Martian Marietta took seek the county approval. David Pepper, Greg Hartmann, and Todd Portune all voted Wednesday morning to approve the resolution, therefore putting a halt to any plans of tunneling under the county road.
