AMELIA, Ohio - A mother and her daughter are safe after their Amelia home caught fire early Wednesday morning.
The single family house in the 3400 block of Virginia Drive caught fire at about 12:40 a.m. The woman and her daughter were in the house at the time of the blaze and escaped the flames without any injuries. Officials have not released the victims' names.
Fire crews contained the fire to a small corner in the attic. The flames caused little damage to the residence, although officials have not yet released an estimated cost of damage.
Authorities have not yet said what caused the fire, although they said they are not considering it to be suspicious.
Officials have not released any additional details about the fire at this time.
