MIAMI TWP., Ohio - A man was killed in a crash that involved a dump truck and a car in Miami Township Friday afternoon.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Branch Hill-Miamiville Road near Timber Trail.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a 1994 Chevrolet Impala operated by Michael Reidel, 19, of Loveland, was traveling northbound on Branch Hill-Miamiville Road while a 1997 Kenworth truck, operated by Shane Voorhees, 53, of Cincinnati, was traveling southbound on the same road. The preliminary investigation by the OSHP indicates the Impala traveled left of center and struck the truck.
The Clermont County coroner pronounced Reidel deceased at the scene. Police say he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Voorhees was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A passenger in Reidel's vehicle, Kevin Decker, 21, of Cincinnati, was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
