CINCINNATI - Police say they arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault in the West End.

Authorities say a woman was sexually assaulted in the 400 block of Hopkins Street on Jan. 30 around noon.

Lonnie White, 30, was arrested on Tuesday after the Personal Crimes Squad issued a warrant. White is charged with one count of rape and is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center under a $750,000 bond.

"She was confronted by a violent sexual predator who had only been out of jail for two weeks, then within two weeks he goes back to jail on parole hold, gets out and begins his crime spree," Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig said about White during an interview.

Chief Craig told 9 On Your Side's Amy Wadas that he was determined to find the suspect quickly so he could no longer prey on innocent victims.

White is scheduled to go before a grand jury on Feb. 15.

Police ask anyone with information on this case to call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
