Arrest made in 2005 witness killing

CINCINNATI - A man has been arrested in connection to the killing of a murder witness just hours after they testified back in 2005.

The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested 34-year-old Lamar Simmons for the murder of 32-year-old Jose Vazquez.

Vazquez was shot and killed in Walnut Hills just hours after he testified in a murder trial.

Police have not stated if Vazquez's testimony and his murder are directly connected.

Vazquez was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center Wednesday and he remains behind bars there.
