CINCINNATI - A sex offender is on the run after being released from Boone County Jail on Wednesday.
Police are searching for John Stuedle, 23, after he failed to check in with his probation officer. Stuedle is 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 155 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair, according to Boone County police.
Stuedle is believed to be staying in the Cincinnati area. Police say he is known to visit the Hamilton County Public Library. He is believed to be with a person who goes by the street name “Cisco.”
Stuedle was convicted on 15 counts of third degree rape and custodial interference in December. Florence police say he was a homeless at the time of the offenses and took advantage of the same victim multiple times at a homeless camp off U.S. 42.
The Boone County Commonwealth Attorney's Office told 9 On Your Side that Stuedle was sentenced to five years probation and was released from jail after serving 180 days. He faced up to 75 years in prison for his crimes.
Stuedle’s criminal record also includes assault and terroristic threatening, according to Boone County police.
Anyone with information in Stuedle’s whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Probation and Parole at 859-292-6555, ext. 273.
