Teen's memory honored during Hughes High School basketball game

CINCINNATI - A high school basketball player who drowned this summer was honored Friday night at Hughes High School.
Shontel Wagoner-Dugar’s family members were presented her No. 55 Hughes High School jersey at halftime of the Hughes-Aiken boys’ basketball game. The family was also given a tapestry depicting Shontel playing the sport her family says she loved so much, basketball.
"She cares that this shows how much she cared about this school...as much as they just did. She loved her school, she loved her team and she's going to be missed," said Shontay Wagoner-Dugar, the victim's mother.
Shontel died July 8 after a rafting accident in the Whitewater River. She was 15 years old.
