CINCINNATI - State Representative Dale Mallory says the EPA needs to allow the use of Propoxur to help alleviate Cincinnati's bed bug problem.
On Friday at a meeting of the Cincinnati Joint Bed Bug Task Force, Representative Mallory said that the pesticide, which the EPA says could potentially be harmful to children, needs to be available rather than relying on people to come up with their own solutions.
"This chemical was a chemical that was not banned, it was removed from a list. You have household chemicals that can cause more problems than Propoxur." Mallory says that the different solutions pest control companies and people on their own have come up with are just as dangerous.
Cincinnati was recently named the second worst city in the United States for bed bug infestation by the pest control company Terminix.
