SPRINGFIELD TWP, Ohio - Police in Springfield Township say a drunk driver is to blame for a six-vehicle pile-up on Hamilton Avenue at I-275 on Thursday evening.
Authorities say Timothy Kessling, 44, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe towing a RV behind it northbound on Hamilton Avenue at I-275 when he rear-ended a Ford Escort at about 6 p.m. The impact caused Kessling to drive on top of the Escort, which trapped the driver inside the vehicle.
The Escort’s driver had to be extricated from the vehicle and emergency crews transported the driver to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The driver, whose name has not yet been released, is in stable condition, according to police.
A total of six vehicle were involved in the accident. No other drivers sustained injuries in the crash.
Authorities charged Kessling with OVI and aggravated vehicle assault.
