CINCINNATI - Traffic is back to normal on Fort Washington Way Thursday morning after a semi crash shut down the roadway Wednesday night.

An overturned semi-truck shut down westbound traffic on Fort Washington Way Wednesday night. The accident affected traffic on multiple roadways into early Thursday morning.

Dispatchers say police closed the downtown freeway around 5:30 p.m. Some lanes of traffic were reopened around midnight. Officials removed the semi from the roadway at about 2 a.m.

The accident also impacted traffic on southbound Interstate 71, according to reports. Traffic was directed to the Third Street exit as a detour to I-71/75 south.

Reports indicate traffic was backed up on southbound I-71 from downtown to Dana Avenue at one point.

No one was injured as a result of the accident.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
