CINCINNATI - The city of Hamilton temporarily is using a back-up number to field emergency calls.

911 service in Hamilton is down, so officials ask that Hamilton residents who need to report an emergency should call (513) 868-5811.

All other Tri-State areas may resume using 911 to report emergencies.

Earlier Friday evening, Norwood, Union Twp. and Clermont County had alternative numbers to call in cases of  emergencies because 911 service was down. That service has since been restored.

No other areas have reported downed 911 service.
