Nearby explosion closes charter school

CINCINNATI - A nearby explosion forced the Alliance Charter Academy to close Thursday.
The explosion happened around 8 a.m. in the 1700 block of Duck Creek Road.
The explosion reportedly occurred in a nearby sewer. Police say the sewer was smoking and they believe it was some type of electrical fire.
Officials put the school on a delay and ultimately decided to close for the day so that authorities could investigate the explosion and make sure the area was safe.
