CINCINNATI - A Mount Healthy man is in custody, accused of abusing two children in his care.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said Friday that agents with the Crimes Against Children unit arrested 23-year-old James Brown on Thursday night.
Brown was charged with two counts of endangering children and two counts of felonious assault.
DeWine said an investigation was launched after a woman sought care for her 11-month-old son Wednesday night. The attorney general said the boy was found to have a skull fracture.
"This mother trusted her child with this man, who was a friend of her family," said Attorney General DeWine. "The safety of the children in this state has always been my top priority, and there is absolutely no good reason to ever harm a child."
The attorney general’s office said doctors also examined an unrelated 3-month-old child who had also been in Brown’s care and suffered multiple rib fractures.
Brown is being held at the Hamilton County Jail.
