LOVELAND, Ohio - Vacuuming and dusting usually comes easy for Loveland mom Jenny Giltmier, but there are times after receiving treatment for breast cancer that she doesn't feel up to cleaning.

"I've had different treatments over the course of the times since my diagnosis. I felt better and worse at different times. The time that they were here was really appreciated because I was in between some surgeries," said Giltmier.

Cleaning crews from "Just Ask and Consider It Done" have come to the rescue polishing and cleaning Giltmier's home during part of her cancer treatment.

The owner of "Just Ask," Lisa Davies, says when she heard about the non-profit organization "Cleaning for a Reason" she signed up to help.

"I know what women go through with cancer with the chemo and the radiation. I've had my family members that have had breast cancer," Davies explained.

"Cleaning for a Reason", which is based out of Lewisville, Texas, connects women undergoing treatment for cancer with a local cleaning company.

Most professional cleaning companies will offer up to four house cleanings for free. They donate their services and even money to support the program.

"It doesn't even have to be cleaning. It could be organization. Our company does everything from decluttering and organizing," Davies said.

The available slots can fill up quickly, but Giltmier encourages women to apply.

"We're women. We're moms. We're working moms. We all need help and throwing that diagnosis in just makes it even more complicated. Just Ask locally here, they are great that they've been here to partner with Cleaning For a Reason and that they could come out and help," Giltmier said

You can make a difference by making a donation to "Cleaning for a Reason" at www.cleaningforareason.org or www.justaskandconsideritdone.com .

Hoover, which is a supporter of the program, will contribute $1 up to $25,000 for each new Hoover or "Cleaning for a Reason" Facebook connection.

There are several steps during the application process including sending proof of your cancer treatment to "Cleaning for a Reason."

Here is a checklist from the organization's website:

Step 1 - Check under the “Locations Tab” on our website to see if we have a partner in your area. Our maid service partners are local businesses that serve their business area. Typically, they will travel approximately 10-15 miles from their business location.

Step 2 - If there is a maid service in your area, register by clicking the “Cancer Patient” tab. We accept 50 applications Monday through Thursday at 12 noon Central time. Fill out the online application.

After you have successfully completed the application, a screen will display informing you that we need a doctor verification sent to our facility. The fax number where to be sent will display. Also, request that the doctor’s office type your name on the form.

Our maid service partners agree to take a minimum two patients at a time and clean once a month for four months. After your application is complete and your doctor verification is received, we will contact the maid service partner in your area. If they are available, to take you, they will contact you to schedule your cleanings. If they are not available and are currently servicing the maximum number of patients already, you will receive an email from us informing you that you will have to reapply at a later date.
