CINCINNATI, Ohio - A local pastor and director of Project Nehemiah Cincinnati Ceasefire is working hard to reduce gun violence around the Tri-State.

Ennis Tait, pastor of the Church of Living God, will help run the second of three planned gun buyback events Tuesday to help deter violence in local homes, the street and across the Tri-State.

“We want people to see...innocent bystanders,” Tait said.

Tait is asking for donations so he can buy $100 gift cards to local stores like Target and Meijer. He plans to give those gift cards to people in exchange for turning in their guns.

Event organizers collected 145 guns during the first event on Jan. 15. The third scheduled event will be held March 29.

The event will be held at Lincoln Heights Municipal building on Wayne Avenue from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
