ELMWOOD PLACE, Ohio - A local pair is in police custody after police say they found drugs and stolen items in their Elmwood Place house early Friday morning.
Elmwood Place police searched the residence of 29-year-old Nathan Hill in the 5800 block of Highland Avenue around 1 a.m. and found numerous types of illegal narcotics, three firearms, Percocets and items police say they believe were stolen from neighbors.
Police worked with SWAT to search the house Hill shared with 31-year-old Barbara Young after an investigation into drug trafficking complaints from neighbors close to the residence, Sgt. Kevin Vanover with the Elmwood Place Police Department said in a news release.
During their search, Vanover said they found heroin and other narcotics they are working to identify. The drugs were likely obtained by trading some of the items the pair allegedly stole from homes on neighboring streets, Vanover said.
Elmwood Place officials will be working to locate the possible previous owners of the stolen items to return them. Police have not yet released information about what stolen items they recovered.
Police arrested Hill around 4:30 a.m. and charged him with weapons under disability and two separate counts of possession of drugs—one for heroin and the other for Percocets. Young is charged with one count of possession of drugs for having heroin. Police transported the pair to the justice center.
Officials have not released any additional details at this time.
