Pedestrians and drivers around Great American Ball Park and U.S. Bank Arena will notice some changes starting Wednesday.

Pete Rose Way from Broadway Street to Johnny Bench Way will be under construction to replace the pedestrian bridge that spans over the street.

Pete Rose Way will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the project and pedestrians will be re-routed with signs.

Reds fans and attendees of U.S. Bank Arena events use the bridge frequently to get up to the ballpark and stadium entrance levels, and parts of it have been rusting away for years.

Those attendees will have to plan on finding a new way to reach the entrance level for most of this year, as the new bridge is not scheduled to open until October.

Pedestrians can get to the upper level via either the staircase adjacent to Great American Ball Park on the northeast side or the elevator/staircase in the garage adjacent to U.S. Bank Arena.
