CINCINNATI - Just more than 14 days remain for Reds fans to enter into an online lottery for the right to purchase Opening Day tickets.
"We've had 32,000 people already register online for the opportunity to buy tickets," said John Davis, the Reds Vice President of Ticket Sales.
Those who win the opportunity to purchase Opening Day tickets will be allowed to buy up to four tickets.
"The urgency of Opening Day will never go away," Davis said. "I would tell you that this year, with the amount of optimism there is with this team coming off of another post season year, season ticket purchasing has been at one of the highest paces that we've seen here in quite some time."
The deadline to take part in the lottery ends at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Reds will then notify the winners on Thursday, Feb. 14.
For those whose names are drawn, tickets will then be available for purchase starting on Feb. 15. The purchase window will last for 24-48 hours based on the number of tickets available.
The number of tickets available is tied to the amount of season ticket packages sold. The more season ticket packages sold the fewer will be available for the lottery, but the Reds will hold back a minimum of one thousand tickets for the online drawing.
To register Reds fans can go to Reds.com and sign up.
