CINCINNATI - We're a few months away from the Flying Pig Marathon, but the race is already off at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

The Hog Log program aims to help kids "Be Smart, Eat Well & Move More," by encouraging them to exercise their brains and bodies.

The Nutrition Council has also partnered with the Public Library and Flying Pig Marathon to encourage children to make healthy nutrition choices and tap into vast reading sources.

The program will take place at seven urban libraries including Avondale, Clifton, Corryville, Price Hill, Walnut Hills, West End and the Main Library's Children's Learning Center.

There is a free launch party February 4 at 2 p.m. at the Main Library's Children's Learning Center at the corner of 9th and Vine Streets.

There is a special web page promoting the event at www.kidspace.cincinnatilibrary.org.

Children are also being encouraged to participate in the Flying Pig Kids Marathon on May 5.
