CINCINNATI - Two hundred and seventy-five restaurant jobs are up for grabs at this weekend's Moerlein Lager House job fair.

Hundreds waited for an hour to fill out an application without the guarantee of an interview.

"I think what people need to know is that we're looking for experience in restaurant that is definitely what we prefer," said Kim Woodward of Cunningham Restaurant Group.

Managers at the fair told those waiting in line around 1:00 p.m. Friday that they were no longer taking applications for entry-level positions.

"I have a daughter, a husband, so I'm helping my family out," said Ellen Foster of North College Hill.

Foster, who is currently unemployed, is hoping for a job as a server.

"It's hard.  When I heard on the news they were having an open interview, I decided to come on down and get in line," said Foster.

Woodward is excited about the applicant pool.

"Everyone that has come through has known a little something about the name Christian Moerlein or the facility so there is a lot of buzz in Cincinnati about this place," said Woodward.

Buster Lowry of Pleasant Ridge told 9 News he has 25 years experience working in commercial kitchens.  He believes he's got a 50/50 chance for a job.

"I think this will bring a lot of energy to the city.  It brings a lot of energy to the banks (Smale Riverfront Park) because I know a lot of people are looking for new places to go," said Lowry.

The new Moerlein Lager House will be open for business Feb. 27.
