First tenants move into apartments at The Banks

CINCINNATI - Tuesday will see the long awaited Banks Project in downtown Cincinnati reach an important milestone, as the first couple moves into their new apartment at the complex.

Jeff Reinecke and Kate Heekin will be the first of over 300 new tenants moving into "The Current at The Banks" apartments over the next few weeks and months. They'll be greeted by Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory as well as The Banks property manager and representatives of the Carter/Dawson Development team for a ribbon cutting for the new complex and new neighborhood.

The two-building, five-story complex in between Great American Ball Park and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is part of the $80 million first phase of The Banks Project. Property managers say 60 percent of the rental units at The Banks are already taken.

The Banks also includes 96,000 square feet of retail space, along with a revised street grid system that is built over a multi-story parking garage with over 3,300 parking spaces.

Rents at The Current run from just over $800 for a studio to as much as $2,400 a month for a deluxe 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit with views of the Ohio River, downtown or Great American Ball Park.
