A family will lay a toddler to rest on Friday afternoon.

One-year-old William Cunningham was found dead in a closet, wrapped in a sheet inside two plastic bags last weekend.

The coroner says he died from head trauma.

Originally, the 1-year-old's babysitter, Marquita Burch, 27, told Covington police the baby went missing last Friday. But she later changed her story, telling police she took the boy's body to a Winton Road apartment. That's where police found Cunningham.

Burch was charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence after the discovery of the body.

Friends and family will remember Cunningham at 4 p.m. on Friday at Gwen Mooney Funeral Home in Spring Grove Village.
